Spring Is For Mulching!

If you’ve been keeping up with our blog posts, you’ve been reminded several times that spring is right around the corner! And with spring, comes the excitement of another growing season.

An important step to get your landscape ready for spring is to apply mulch to your planting beds. This process is called mulch topdressing. Topdressing is a light application of new mulch. Not only does topdressing make your beds look better but it provides many other benefits:

• Retains moisture for plants
• Deters weed growth
• Returns nutrients back to the ground when it biodegrades
• Moderates soil temperature fluctuations, and keeps soil warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer
• Prevents soil erosion

At Wright Outdoor Solutions, we produce and sell several varieties of recycled mulch products, meaning that we turn the removed trees and limbs from our various projects into mulch. All of our mulch is produced on site at our facilities.

The types of mulch we offer:

Double Processed Hardwood Mulch
This is a dark brown, more aesthetic mulch material made from hardwood logs that looks neat and biodegrades quickly.

Single Processed Hardwood Mulch
This mulch retains moisture and prevents weeds. It’s light brown and made up of large pieces, and it stays in place once installed.

Certified Playground Mulch
This mulch is certified and made from chipped logs; a copy of this product’s certification is available if necessary.
