Wright Outdoor Solutions provides several types of applications to keep your lawn at its peak. We have certified experts on staff that use only the highest quality products and can customize a lawn care program suited to your lawn’s specific needs. Our customized applications can help make your lawn greener and ensure that it’s free of fleas, ticks, insects, grubs, weeds, and even moles!
Fertilizing is essential for achieving a healthy and green “envy-of-the-neighborhood” lawn. To have a healthy lawn, you first need healthy soil. Our five-step fertilization process is custom designed for the soils and lawns of Central Iowa. This fertilization process ensures a healthy, lush, and green lawn. We use commercial grade fertilizers, which are known to start working on your lawn right away and continue to do so even in dry conditions.
The first application is applied in early spring. It includes a moderate dose of fertilizer and a pre-emergent herbicide to limit germination of grassy and broadleaf weeds.
The second application is applied in late spring. It includes a moderate dose of fertilizer and a broadleaf weed control to get sprouting weeds like dandelions.
The third application is applied during the summer. It includes a moderate dose fertilizer and a targeted weed control application.
The fourth application is applied in late summer/early fall. It includes a moderate dose fertilizer and a broadleaf weed control to get late summer/early fall weeds as they are preparing to store carbohydrates for winter. Additionally, we spot spray for creeping Charlie and wild violet.
The fifth application is applied in late fall. It includes a moderate dose fertilizer to prepare your lawns for the long winter ahead and green up faster in the spring.
Your lawn will receive the best results from starting the five-step lawn application process with step number one, however, we offer options to jump into the application process at any step.
In addition to the five-step lawn application process, insect and grub control options are also available. If necessary for your lawn, they will be applied during the summer season.
Because a healthy lawn is the best protection against weeds, insects, and diseases, why not go that extra step and treat your lawn with organic fertilizer? Wright Outdoor Solutions offers two organic lawn fertilization programs. One of the programs uses an all-natural organic fertilizer, and the other is a hybrid of natural organics and synthetic broadleaf weed control.
Our organic fertilizer is designed to have a slow release dictated by the level of microbial activity in your soil. Over time, the organic product will build in your yard, increasing the microbial life. The slow release of the product’s nitrogen will also eliminate leaching into groundwater, and the associated environmental damage that quick release products cause.
This all-natural organic program does not include any crabgrass or weed control. For this reason, the hybrid option will give you the best looking lawn. The hybrid program includes a broadleaf weed control applied twice throughout the growing season to eliminate seasonal weeds and reduce crabgrass.
Grubs, which are often the larvae of Japanese beetles, June beetles, and chafers, are difficult to see until they have already done damage to your lawn by feasting on the roots of your grass. A sure sign of grubs is the sudden interest of critters like raccoons and skunks.
We can treat your lawn for grubs and make sure your landscape is in control by applying a treatment in the spring or mid-summer. It’s beneficial to apply the treatment as early in the year as possible before grubs get too hard to control.
Nothing destroys a beautiful lawn more than pesky dandelions and other weeds. They not only look unsightly; weeds can also be disastrous for the health of your lawn. Our experts know that feeding your lawn correctly and mowing and watering the right way will make your lawn weed-free!
We can apply a number of treatments as part of our five-step lawn application process to rid your lawn of stubborn weeds like dandelions, crabgrass, and white clovers.
An easy and quick way to keep your lawn looking its best is by applying a compost fertilizer a couple of times each year.
