February’s employee spotlight features Account Manager Amy Lenning. Amy graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in horticulture and has been in the green industry since 1999. She has been with The Growing Concern since she started working in the industry and stayed on through the company’s merger with Wright Outdoor Solutions. Before moving up the ladder in sales and account management, Amy worked as a plant technician, learning how to properly care for and maintain all plant types.
Amy works mainly with interior tropical plants and oversees interior plant technicians, sales, training, and office work. Amy enjoys working with clients on new designs and has found that over the years, her customers have greatly enjoyed the way she uses plants to create new looks for their home or office. Her passion for high quality customer service ensures that her clients get the results they desire in a timely fashion. This has led to her working on many of the same accounts for more than a decade.
Co-workers describe Amy as being funny and great to work with. Amy enjoys gardening and spending time with her family in her free time. Her favorite interior plant is the cataractum due to its deep, lush green color. For outdoor plants, she enjoys working with all different varieties of hostas.
Next month, keep an eye out for an employee spotlight on Project Coordinator Kathy Velez!
