On Tuesday, July 28, we teamed up with KXnO 1460 AM radio’s Murph and Andy and provided one lucky winner with a full-day landscape update. The Help Me, Wright! contest received an overwhelming number of entries, which is great to see.

This year, Stacy and Corey Kluesner of Urbandale were the lucky winners. Early in the morning on the day of the installation, the sky took a turn for the worst. Thunder rumbled and rain threatened, but luckily, the weather didn’t completely rain on our parade. Our crews worked diligently and transformed a blank canvas into beautiful bed of new plants.

It was great getting to know the family and learning about their tastes and how they use their property. Because they had a blank canvas, it was fun to be able to take something from basic and make it pop with color and life. Stacy entered the contest simply because her yard didn’t have any landscaping whatsoever. We added color and texture to the final product by designing curved planting beds with flowers, such as the deep purple coralbells, to match the darker brick on the house while fitting into the look of the neighborhood. We added a few stepping stones for sidewalk access to water as well.

Although Stacy and Corey always wanted to update their landscape, something always got in the way, whether it was weekend traveling for their kids’ baseball or whatnot. The Kluesners are honored to win. Stacy looks forward to enjoying the update and plans to use it as an excuse to work outside and spend more time in their outdoor space.
