Lynn Kuhn joined the Wright Outdoor Solutions team in February 2026, bringing with her more than three decades of experience in thoughtful, people‑focused landscape design. She grew up in small‑town Ionia, Iowa, where days were spent outdoors with her nine siblings playing, planting, helping in the garden, and relaxing in the sun. These childhood experiences shaped her design sensibilities and landscape ethic.
After earning her landscape architecture degree from Iowa State University, she spent over 30 years in the design‑build nursery industry as a landscape architect. Her path included serving as Lead Designer at Heard Gardens, working as a consultant, and becoming the first Executive Director of the Brenton Arboretum. In 2015, she founded Outdoor Transformations, a design and consulting business where she discovered her professional purpose of creating outdoor spaces that don’t just look beautiful, but invite people to connect. She calls these special places Conversation Gardens, and even authored a book to share the importance of meaningful outdoor conversations.
Now returning to the very building where she once designed early in her career, Lynn’s career has come full circle. She loves sharing what she’s learned through decades of successes (and a few failures) with clients and coworkers.
Lynn is a licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Iowa and a Certified Nursery Professional through the INLA. Lynn also enjoys writing and speaking about outdoor living.
Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time outdoors with family and friends, reading, or trying new foods. Although she loves all trees, she’s especially drawn to the strength and bold beauty of oaks. For hardscape material, she loves the versatility of limestone.
